Edge

When delivering video files using a CDN, edge refers to the CDN server that is closest to the user requesting the video. When a video file is requested by a user for the first time, the edge server downloads the video file from the origin server, delivers the video to the user, and then keeps a copy of the video locally so it can be delivered to future users in the same region much more quickly.
